SNI Celebrates National Nurses Week and Announces Nurse of the Year Winner!
The winner is Cassandra Spears
Cassandra was our 1st runner up in 2008 and she went on to secure the winners circle in 2009 with her consistent good attitude, pleasant personality and dedicated spirit. Cassandra is a Masters prepared nurse who retired from the Navy in 2007 after serving 20 years as a Nurse Corp Officer and served on the USNS Comfort hospital ship during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Cassandra traveled around the country working in such prestigious hospitals as the National Naval Medical center in Bethesda, MD and Washington, DC and also worked in MS, FL, CA, NY and GA. Cassandra is very accommodating and is not afraid to put a few miles on her car if a hospital really needs the help. Through SNI she has worked at Temple, Central Montgomery, Good Shepherd, Reading and Nazareth hospitals. Cassandra has always made a good impression at every facility and they continuously extend her blocks or call to specifically request her to work over their own staff because they recognize she is a true professional through and through. There is no mistaking when Cassandra visits the SNI offices because her smile radiates through the room and her laughter can cheer the worst of moods on the gloomiest of days.
The 1st place runner up is Susan Garrett
Sue Garrett has been a nurse for 24 years, having graduated from College Misericordia with a BSN. Prior to joining SNI she worked at AEMC on the Med-Surg and transplant unit as well as the John Heinz Institute as a staff nurse and relief supervisor. She also has experience in Home Health Care. At SNI she has worked at Easton Hospital, Good Shepherd Rehab and Geisinger Medical Center at Danville. She has consistently been rated above average by supervisors at these facilities and has been viewed as a resource for other nurses. She is very flexible with her time worked and picks up shifts at the last minute if necessary. Sue has been noted for her teamwork and friendly and caring attitude toward her patients.
We are very proud to represent some of the best and brightest nurses in the industry and we look forward to your continued support and professionalism throughout the year.
Congratulations Cassandra and Susan!!!
Respectfully, The Management and Staff of SNI
