SNI Search Division

While SNI’s primary business is independent contracting we started a search division 2 yrs ago and are having good results. Each month we are placing nurses, NPs, Mgrs and Directors in full time positions. If you are looking for a full time job in addition to contracting please let us know, the process is different but we are succeeding...here are some of the facts:

The market in the Philadelphia, Leigh Valley and Jersey region is tight but there are also openings ( SNI primarily serves the 3 hr radius from Philadelphia but for current and known contractors we will make search calls anywhere in the country).

To complete you need to have your resume up to date with all of your key accomplishments and your credentials readily available. For those of you who have been working agency full time it is important to list the agency you are working with and key assignments so the reviewer gets a sense of your skills and knowledge base. It’s also important to list some of your personal information especially if you are active in the community church/synagogue / mosque etc.

Once your resume is ready for circulation send it to us and tell us you’re A B C choices .. this is job, health care org, salary, start date. The clearer you are the easier it is for us to represent you and find out what matches.

Placement times vary by job level..in general a RN position takes 30 days, an advanced practice position takes 3-4 months , a nurse mgr position takes 2-3 months, Director and Sr positions take apx 6 months after everything is produced and a few interviews have occurred. Jobs outside of direct patient care HIM, HIT, pharma and consulting take up to a yr.

Please send completed resume and ABC choices to inquiry@snistaffing.com.

SNI NewsFlash

In Memory of our friend, Glen Lapp

http://llnw.image.cbslocal.com/26/2010/08/08/175x131/GlenLapp.JPG

Today our hearts our heavy…we received a phone call with the very sad news that one of our own Nurse Contractors, Glen Lapp, was one of the 10 member medical team killed in Afghanistan on Thursday. Arlene Medina worked with Glen through SNI on a special IT Project at Siemens Medical and we thank her for sharing the information.

Glen went to Afghanistan in 2008 on an International Assistance Mission providing eye care and medical help to Afghan families. Although Glen is a trained Registered Nurse, according to his organizations spokesperson, he was actually serving as an Executive Assistant and was the Manager of its provincial ophthalmic care program. Glen believed that all people deserved to be treated with respect and love and wanted to bring a little bit of Christ into that part of the world.

Lapp worked through SNI for many years as an ICU nurse at such facilities as Lancaster Regional Medical Center and Brandywine Hospital. Glen’s life was filled with excitement, travel, missionary work and a genuine love for people and their well-being. Glen was well respected and a top-notch clinician.

Glen was a graduate of Mennonite University and earned his nursing degree from Johns Hopkins University. He volunteered for relief efforts in New Orleans and provided nursing services throughout the years at a Native American Health Clinic in the Grand Canyon, Guatemala and Kabul, Afghanistan. Glen traveled extensively and in 2002 he spent a month climbing the mountains in Chile and another 2 months in Nepal. In 2002 he traveled across the U.S. by bicycle.

Glen was 40 years old and lived in Lancaster, PA. For anyone wishing to send cards, notes etc. his mother, Mary Lapp, resides at 934 Pleasure Road, Lancaster, PA 17601. Mary has asked though that any inquiries be referred to the organization he last served, The Mennonite Central Committee (MCC). Burial details are not known at this time.

SNI sends our condolences to Glen’s family and friends and hope they find some peace at this terrible time knowing that Glen made a difference not only in his Nursing career but left his mark in many countries around the world.

Thank you for including Glen and his family in your prayers.

Swine Influenza ( H1N1 Flu )

CDC announces second U.S. death from H1N1 flu

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention today reported at least 642 cases of H1N1 flu in 41 states, and a second death associated with the virus in Texas. The agency has distributed to U.S. states, Puerto Rico and other countries a test kit to detect the virus, which it said will likely increase the number of confirmed cases and provide a more accurate picture of its prevalence in the U.S.

Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people. There are many things you can to do to prevent getting and spreading influenza. Visit the CDC Swine Flu website to learn more >>

CDC has posted several new swine flu documents and resources in the past few days, including the following:

    • Taking Care of a Sick Person in Your Home
    • Safe travel information for the U.S. and Mexico
    • Swine Flu Video Podcast
